| La Posta Vecchia was built over the remains of a much earlier Roman villa, which itself was part of the ancient Roman port town of Alsium, a favourite retreat for many of Rome's leaders. When J. Paul Getty restored La Posta Vecchia in the Sixties, he unearthed mosaics and artefacts on site, which he housed in his own private museum. This museum is now open to our guests.
